The village of Roussospiti is a traditional Cretan village, 5 kilometres South East of Rethymno Town and Beach, with many local citizens living on a permanent basis therefore you wil find supermarket, bakery, local kafenion and tavernas.

Roussospiti village boasts of a variety of Venetian buildings such as the famous fountain, which dates back to the 17th century. Gerola described it as “graceful”, a characterisation, which, on a closer look, one must agree with.

On both sides of the semi-circular concha a pair of small columns are situated, which support the architrave. The spout has the shape of a lion’s head. The location is ideal if you wish to enjoy the mountains and the existing Cretan nature and visit the rest of the Island of Crete
